What is Angioplasty?

It is a procedure that can open up a blocked blood vessel using a small, flexible plastic tube, or catheter, with a "balloon" at the end.

What is stenting?

To put a stent in, your doctor will start a small IV in a blood vessel in your groin, arm. They will Your doctor will then insert a thin tube called a catheter through the blood vessel to the blocked artery. The stent has a tiny balloon inside of it. Your doctor inflates the balloon inside your blocked artery. Your doctor will then deflate the balloon leaving the stent in place.
